Christina Sanderson, Intern Teacher                                                    \

Hours 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM

Christina is married with two daughters and has an AA in Early Childhood Education from Shasta College. Christina started at Montessori in 1997 after working for Elf Daycare for two years.  She has worked as an assistant teacher both in the toddler class with Celia and in the primary class with Jenny. Christina’s hobbies include bowling, scrap booking, and photography.

Why Montessori? “It helped me personally grow into a better mother, teacher, and all-around person. The gracefulness and order create a peaceful place to work. Watching the children throughout the years grow into capable human beings because of the choices that we allow them to make is extraordinary! I like the idea that children are not pushed into something that they are not mentally ready for. Following the child is what it is all about.”

Kimberly Merryman, Assistant Teacher

Hours 8:30 AM to 2:30 PM

Kim is a mom of three children, two teenagers and a son in Jenny’s class. She is currently working on completing her AA degree at Shasta College in Early Childhood Education. She is active in the Early Childhood Educators Network and has the Redding Rancheria Head Start and various other childcare centers. Her hobbies include kayaking, snow skiing, photography, swimming and spending time with family and friends.

Why Montessori? “I chose Montessori for my student teaching. I spent a semester with Celia as my mentor. It was an unexplainable experience, and Montessori is what I believe in, respect, and support.”
