Why Montessori? “I was taken with the Montessori philosophy when I first observed a classroom in 1972. The children were working independently, quietly, & cooperatively. The materials were so visually pleasing & concrete, and being a visual learner myself they caught my attention. The Montessori philosophy meets my needs as well as the children’s needs, and with respect of one another we can build lasting relationships & a love of learning forever.”

Charity Saldana

Hours 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM

Charity is a wife and mother of two boys, a girl, two dogs and two cats! Charity has an AA in music from Shasta College, and a BA in Liberal Studies from Simpson University. In addition to raising a family and attending college, Charity has worked in her church nursery and with a small children’s choir, The Northstar Chorale. She started working at Montessori Children’s House of Shady Oaks in 2002. Charity’s interests include music, languages, other cultures, reading classic literature to her children, as well as the writings of the Orthodox Church.

Why Montessori? “Our two older children attended Shady Oaks Montessori fourteen years ago. Through parent night meetings, various celebrations and other involvement, I was encouraged to do even more research on Maria Montessori and her philosophy. I have fallen in love with the Montessori ideal and have become a better, more aware parent as a result.”
